I love planning parties, especially my kids’ birthday parties! Ever since they could speak each of my children gets to choose their own themes. It’s fun to look back on what they were interested in each year. We design the cake together, the activities and the decorations. I love making their visions come to life. We down play birthday presents, instead giving the party as a present to our children and their friends. My 6 year old loves soccer so he wanted a Soccer Party full of fun games. Thankfully the weather cooperated! Check out our Soccer Themed Birthday Party Ideas.

THE INVITATION FOR THE SOCCER THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY
Once the theme is decided I usually start with a fun invitation. I created these on PicMonkey and then printed them out. I then glue them onto some fun black and white dot glitter cardstock.
THE DECORATIONS FOR THE SOCCER THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY
The decor was pretty straight forward for this party. I focused on black, white and green and soccer balls. I went the easy route for this party and ordered this soccer ball pennant banner, soccer tablecloth, soccer ball plates, cups and napkins and green, white and black balloons.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE SOCCER THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY
When children arrived at the party they were greeted by a long table with white soccer balls and a variety of colored permanent markers. The kids had fun decorating their balls. This is the perfect activity for a soccer party as we then used the balls for all our soccer games and the kids took them home as a gift.
Thankfully it was a beautiful day and we took everyone outside for some fun Soccer games. Kids are happiest when they are moving! We set up two soccer nets and played very simple games like “crab” where the adults have to walk like crabs on their arms and legs while they kids try to get past them and score a goal. This was definitely the favorite! We also did simple relay races too.
THE piñata
Growing up we always made homemade piñatas for our birthdays. One of the fun parts of being a parent is getting to continue traditions with my kids. This year’s piñata was a super simple soccer ball. Want to make your own? Check out our piñata instructions here.
SOCCER THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY CAKE
I adore creating cakes! I made a simple soccer ball cake and then found the cutest soccer ball candles. The cake was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. We don’t use artificial food dyes so I dyed the cake with our favorite natural food dyes.
Oh this cake was so good it deserves two photographs!
We sent everyone home full of smiles, a belly full of cake and ice cream and a super cool one-of-a-kind soccer ball. Can’t wait for the next birthday party!
