It is a bittersweet day when I start to look at all the beautiful baby toys we have in a box and realize those days are over and it’s time to move forward. Before I do I thought I would share some of my list of the Best Toys for Babies. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience. Habermaas Kringelring Clutching Toy
This toy by HABA was all three of my children’s absolute favorite. Besides being gorgeous it is the perfect shape and size for your little one to practice grabbing and all HABA toys are safe for your babies to put in their mouths. Super important because that’s how babies learn! We love HABA toys!
Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic
This is the toy I would grab as I was leaving the house every single day. Sure my son loved throwing it out of his stroller (what baby doesn’t love that game?) but he also adored this toy! There are multiple ways for little hands to grasp the toy, engaging colors and when the balls move back and forth they make a gentle sound. When my twin daughters’ were born I knew we needed to buy two!
Plan Toys Oval Xylophone
A xlophone is a wonderful way for babies to explore music and everything created by Plan Toys are just so gorgeous! This xylophone is made from organic rubber wood and water based dyes.
Tolo Gripper Rattle
I love the Tolo brand! The toys are so well made. The Gripper Rattle holds a special place in my heart as it was the first toy my son successful picked up on his own. I’ll never forget his smiling, proud expression!
Taggies Plush Toss the Taggies Chime Ball
My son received this ball 5 1/2 years ago and my children still play with it. This ball is indestructible! It is super soft and perfect for your little one. As your child grows older you can use it to roll back and forth, play catch and even kick around the house.
Aurora World Barn Yard Friends Carrier With Sound
If you are looking for the cutest baby gift ever look no further. We love these plush farm animals that make animal noises when you squeeze their bellies. The four animals come with their own carrying case shaped like a barn.
Battat Rainmaker
This is another toy that has spanned multiple developmental ages and continues to be part of our music basket. My children loved rolling it on the ground when they were babies and watching me turn it upside down to make the calming music. All three of my little ones were mesmerized by the beads falling from the top to the bottom and then repeating when I would turn the rainmaker over.
Fisher Price Rainforest Melodies and Lights Delux Gym
All parents and caregivers deserve a little break. When I needed to go to the bathroom or make a quick lunch this gym mat was my dream come true! All three of my children adored playing on this mat. They loved exploring the different animals, listening to the calming music and practicing reaching for the the different hanging pieces.
Sassy Floor Mirror
We received this as a present when my son was born and it was the perfect addition to our day! I would put a soft blanket on the floor and my son would enjoy some time on his tummy.
Melissa and Doug Alphabet Stacking Blocks
I love a toy that spans multiple ages! When my babies were not yet crawling I would line up the blocks so that they could look at the beautiful images. Once they were crawlers my girls loved to have me make mini towers that they could scoot over to and knock down again and again and again! This was also fun for my son to build the towers and have the girls knock them down. We continue to play with these stacking blocks now that my girls have alphabet recognition. Such a great gift!
Knock-Knock Blocks by Small World Toys
I kept a basket of these wonderful soft fabric blocks in our living room so that they were always available for my children to explore. Each of the soft cubes has an interactive element to it. Some of the blocks have peek a book flaps revealing images underneath (my girls’ favorites!). These blocks are a great multi-sensory experience as they have different sounds and textures as well. I also love that they are easy to stack. Another great choice!
Melissa and Doug Wood Blocks
These blocks are one of my favorite building sets we own. Older babies will love to grab and explore the different shapes perhaps even trying to stack two or three blocks. This is the type of toy that grows with your child for years to come. Now that my children are 3 and 5 we use 2 sets of the Melissa and Doug Wood Blocks to build elaborate structures and are part of our dramatic play world. Such a a great price for years of play opportunities!
