Like many children my kids have dreamed about a Disney World Vacation since they saw a commercial with the castle lit up at night and all the amazing themed rides. My husband and I are so excited to be taking our children on their first Disney World Vacation! I am so excited to share How We Told Our Kids About Our Surprise Disney Vacation. A huge thank you to Disney World for providing our family with complimentary tickets! As soon as we started secretly planning the trip I knew I wanted to tell our children in a special, memorable way.
I kept the reveal very simple as I knew if I did anything too over the top my kids would become overwhelmed. I covered a recycled cardboard box with simple white paper and labeled it “Open Me! Surprise Inside!” I added cute black Mickey Mouse ears where a dot would be.
Next I printed out three small photographs of my children and an airplane image on regular white printer paper. I cut out the airplane and my children’s images. I glued the airplane to the top of a white piece of paper and my children’s images to the bottom. Once dry I drew Mickey Mouse ears on the top of each of my children’s heads. I drew an arrow from the airplane to my children and in bright red wrote “We are going to Disney World!“
I placed the piece of paper in the box and closed it up anticipating the big reveal in the morning! I was as excited as I am on Christmas Eve! The next morning I told the kids that we had a HUGE surprise and that the surprise was inside the box. They were so confused! Thankfully my son used his reading skills to exclaim the good news! “We are going to Disney World!”
Needless to say, we are all REALLY excited for our trip to Disney World! Stay tuned for our Disney World Countdown, review of our trip and Disney themed activities and recipes!Want some Disney inspiration? Check out our Peter Pan Birthday Party here!
