Pine Cone Turkey Place Cards

November 8, 2013 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

Last year my children loved making our Glitter Pine Cones. They turned out so beautiful that we used them as place cards for out Christmas Eve Dinner. This year we are using our Glitter Pine Cones as inspiration to make Pine Cone Turkey Place Cards.  Our Thanksgiving Table will look fantastic with this unique personal touch.

Make your Thanksgiving table special with these Pine Cone Turkey Place Cards from Homegrown Friends

large pine cones (one per person)
tempera paint (we used dark pink, orange and yellow)
white glue, glitter (we used gold and pink)
paint brushes
construction paper (we used pink, orange, red and yellow)
white construction paper or blank index cards
googly eyes
glue gun

HOW TO MAKE THE PINE CONE TURKEY PLACE CARDS

Begin by mixing together equal parts tempera paint and white glue (this will help the glitter stick better). We had three containers of orange, pink and yellow. Paint the pine cones.

add paper body parts to create Pine Cone Turkey Place Cards Using a glue gun attach the feathers to the back of the pine cones and the beak and red wattle to the front. Cut one white feather for each pine cone. Verticallly write each person’s name on the white feathers and attach with glue to the middle section of the feathers. Repeat process with each pine cone. Place one Pine Cone Turkey Place Card at each plate and smile at the cuteness!
