July 25, 2013 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

Sometimes it is nice to end a week of activities with a sweet treat. Here is an easy recipe for making Chocolate Monster Cookies. You can make the cookies with your kids or surprise them with a fun dessert.  These would be really fun for Halloween.

CHOCOLATE MONSTER COOKIE INGREDIENTS

Favorite cookie recipe (I used Barefoot Contessa’s Chocolate White Chocolate Chunk Cookie recipe omitting the white chocolate chips)
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted

TIME TO MAKE CHOCOLATE MONSTER COOKIES

Make your favorite cookies and let cool. While the cookies cool melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Stir until completely melted. Using a spoon smooth a layer of chocolate on top of each cookie.

Make eyes by sticking white chocolate chips flat side up into the chocolate. Put the remaining melted chocolate into a plastic baggie. Snip a tiny hole in the corner of the baggie. Use this to pipe a small chocolate dot on each of the white chocolate chips.
