Hot Chocolate Stand

December 20, 2015 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

We had so much fun creating a lemonade stand over the summer.  It was such a wonderful way to be outside with our kids chatting with neighbors and meeting new people from our town.  Because it was one of our favorite summertime memories I decided to surprise the kids with a Hot Chocolate Stand as one of our Advent Calendar Activities.  This time it would also be an act of kindness offering our neighbors free hot chocolate and sugar cookies.  What a wonderful day for all!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE HOT CHOCOLATE STAND

We transformed our favorite Melissa & Doug Lemonade Stand into the Hot Chocolate Stand- the same one we used for our Santa’s Workshop– You could also use a small table
We decorated ours with tinsel garland and colored LED lights
favorite hot cocoa
disposable cups with lids
optional: sugar cookies!

HAVE FUN WITH YOUR HOT CHOCOLATE STAND!

Once decorated we made simple signs that said Hot Chocolate Stand.

My kids really wanted to get out the message that we were offering free hot chocolate and cookies.  They made these enormous signs that they marched up and down our street.  Super cute!

It was so much fun to see our neighbors’ reactions when the kids politely would not accept their money.  Today this is our act of kindness.  Everyone was so thankful and left with good cheer and smiling faces.  I think we just found a new tradition!
