It is that time of year again when children and adults get to dress up as their favorite characters (and get candy, of course!). In my children’s eyes this is the most magical day of the year. This year we are putting a fun twist on our normally boring bowl full of candy by using a real pumpkin to create a Halloween Pumpkin Candy Bowl perfect for handing out candy or I could also picture a few of these as part of a Halloween tablescape for a fun Halloween Party!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CANDY BOWL
medium size pumpkin
glass bowl
sharp knife
candy- We love these huge bags of Hershey’s assorted candy from Walmart. No fear of runnning out on Halloween night!
HOW TO MAKE THE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CANDY BOWL
Begin by cutting off the top of the pumpkin and scooping out the pumpkin seeds (you can save them to roast!).
Continue to use your knife to shave down the inside of the pumpkin as well as the top until a medium size glass bowl fits inside.
Using yellow acrylic paint I painted on a simple jack-o-lantern face.
Now comes the delicious part! Fill the Halloween Pumpkin Candy Bowl with tons of an assortment of your favorite candies.
Side note: if you have never tried a white chocolate Kit Kat, this is your moment. Pause and enjoy. So good! Check out all the candy at Walmart. What’s your favorite?
Such a fun way to add a unique twist on Halloween! Happy Halloween!
This is such a simple, smart and creative candy bowl idea. I might have to keep the Kit Kats for myself though.
Oh you should definitely try the Kit Kats. I’m not even a big white chocolate fan, but they are good!
I’m trying to decide which candy to keep for myself adding reading Jodie’s comment. Oh, wait- that’s a no brainer. I’ll take the Reese’s. This is SUPER CUTE.
You can’t go wrong with PB and chocolate!
Oh, I love the bowl hidden inside the pumpkin. What a great idea! We are going to try this because we put our candy out on the porch and use the honor system so we can go out trick-or-treating with our kids. This will look most festive!
Love it! Happy Halloween!
At first I was like, how did she keep the guts off her candy? And then I was like, “duh!” Smart idea!
Thanks Erica
What a great idea! Especially for those extra pumpkins lying around. I love how you created this and SO simple! (Plus, no need to find a way to store a candy bowl, year after year!
