We love our Giant Mermaid Fabric Sensory Board, but I couldn’t get out of my head how amazing a Giant Multicolored Mermaid Fabric Sensory Board would be. I’m so glad we decided to make one because it is amazing! It is so easy to make and with the new technique I describe below should be a lot more durable.

HOW TO MAKE THE GIANT MULTICOLORED MERMAID FABRIC SENSORY BOARD
For our large canvas we used six mermaid fabric pillows. Honestly, the hardest part was choosing which colors to choose. There are so many gorgeous options. Working with one pillow at a time glue the pillow to the canvas or sturdy cardboard. You will want to add only a small line of glue at a time. It is important to make sure you are stretching the pillow case a little as you glue so it is taut to the canvas. This will make it more fun to use later.
Once you have one pillow case glued to the canvas continue the process until all pillow cases are glued to the board.
If your pillow cases end up being longer than the board just wrap them around the sides and glue to the back.
Now it’s time to play! I loved using a sturdy canvas for this sensory board because it allows us to easily move it from table to ground to wall without worrying about it getting destroyed. I love that this sensory board also provides fine motor practice when children are using their fingers to practice small motions, as well as gross motor practice when children use their full arms to provide marks or crouch down and then reach to the top.
