Easy Morning Beauty Routine for Moms

May 15, 2015 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

Gone are the days when I was juggling nursing twin infants and keeping an energetic 2 year old boy from destroying our home.  Life was crazy back then, but one thing I learned is how important it is to take care of ourselves as mothers.  We get lost in the shuffle too often.  I was burnt out and needed to find small moments to take care of myself.  When we feel our best as mothers, we can then be the best (not perfect) mothers to our children.  An Easy Morning Beauty Routine for Moms will have you feeling great and getting out the door on time!

For me as a busy mom of twin 4 year olds and a six year old beauty is not defined as needing to look glamorous.  Beauty is strength, confidence, a sense of calm and feeling good about myself.

Here are 4 tips for an easy morning beauty routine for moms.

1) Begin your morning routine at night. Okay, so I know I said I would discuss an easy morning routine, but this tip actually begins with the night.  I don’t know about you, but once my kids were born long, relaxing morning showers became non-existent.  This is why after I put my kids to bed and work out I shower at night.  No one is awake to bother me and I can take my time.  Skintimate has a great line of shaving creams that smell amazing.  The Strawberry Tangerine is heavenly!  Using a Schick razor I knew I would be left with smooth legs making me feel beautiful the next morning. (Hairy legs and shorts aren’t exactly a confidence booster!)  Best part?  I can pick up the Schick products at my local Stop and Shop grocery store while doing the rest of my shopping!  Love time savers!

2) Start the day with a few moments to yourself.  One of the easiest ways to feel beautiful is to find a few moments of calm in the morning.  I wake up before my kids, pour a hot cup of tea and relish in the perfection of a quiet house.

3) Eat a healthy breakfast!  Whatever your favorite breakfast food is make sure you take the time to eat (bonus points if your whole family begins the morning with a meal together).  Strength and beauty begin by nourishing our bodies with healthy food.  Some of my personal favorites are eggs with a side of arugula and roast peppers, our homemade granola over greek yogurt and strawberries or a yummy  spinach berry smoothie.

4) Choose clothes that make you feel good.  Recently I gave up the notion that my body was ever going to look exactly how I did before I had kids.  Why chase something when you can love what you currently have?  Take the time to purchase a few items that make you feel great!  Strut those freshly shaved legs in a favorite pair of shorts or cute dress.  Even on the days when I’m taking my kids to school or playing in our backyard the day is better when I take the time to choose clothes that make me feel good (and yes, some days that is my favorite pair of jeans and a t shirt).

Ready to start your quick and easy beauty routine? Head over to one of the Ahold Stores (Stop n Shop, Giant or Martin’s) and pick up some Skintimate shaving gel and one of the Schick razors.  Schick offers a great selection of tools to create an easy at-home beauty routine.  If you are a super busy mama I recommend the Intuition Revit Moisture Kit.  This razor lathers, shaves and moistures leaving me confident to start my day.  I’m totally not kidding, ever since receiving this razor in the mail, I look forward to using it.  My legs look and feel amazing!

Whether your day begins in a suit and heels or shorts and a t-shirt, be confident, be strong and Rock Your Legs!

All Pitch Perfect 2 Limited Edition Shave products will be available beginning April 2015 at drug and grocery stores nationwide.
