- My kitchen tends to be cold so I put my oven on warm for a few minutes then turn it off and place the bowl of dough in.
- Divide dough into 16 equal parts.
- Use your palm to create a ball by moving your hand in a circular motion.
- Once you have create 16 balls take one ball at a time, slightly flatten the dough with your palm and poke your finger into the middle of the ball.

HOW TO MAKE EASY HOMEMADE BAGELS
In an electric mixer (or use a spoon and your muscles!) combine yeast and warm water. Stir and let dissolve. Add honey (the honey helps the yeast grow). Add the flour and mix until combine. Add the salt and mix. Knead for 10 minutes either with the bread hook attachment or by hand.

Divide dough into 16 equal parts. This is a fantastic teaching moment to share with your children and introduce some mathematical language. Begin by showing the dough as a whole and then dividing into 2 equal halves. Ask how many pieces of dough there are now. Revisit the fact that now there are 2 halves. Continue to divide each dough in half adding up the amounts each time until you have 16 pieces of dough.
Next show how you can use your palm to create a ball by moving your hand in a circular motion. Don’t worry if the balls do not look the perfect. Just like with children’s artwork a large part of cooking with children is about the process and not the final product. Focus on creating a love of cooking and a healthy perception of food!
