DIY Mickey Mouse Ears Ice Cream Cones

March 31, 2014 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

A few weeks ago we made our first trip to Disney World with our three kids.  With careful planning we were able to travel on a budget and still have money for fun Disney World treats and souvenirs.  After a busy morning of Magic Kingdom rides we would stop for sweet treats.  One of our favorites were the ice cream cones with cute chocolate Mickey ears.  Once home my children missed all the fun and magic of Disney (how could you not?) so I brought a little Disney home with us.

Make Your Own Chocolate Mickey Mouse Ears Ice Cream Cones

If you are lucky to travel to Disney World head over to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.  Ask for the kid’s cone and you will be pleasantly surprised with the cutest Mickey Ear’s Ice Cream Cone.

Here is the super easy way to make your own Mickey Mouse Ears Ice Cream Cones.  Fun for a Disney themed party or just to brighten a Tuesday!

YOU WILL NEED:
1/4 cup chocolate chips
favorite ice cream flavors
ice cream cones
wax paper

Begin by melting the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute or in a double boiler on the stove.  Using a small spoon create chocolate circles on wax paper.  You can let it harden on the counter or you can do what we did and put them in the freezer for 10 minutes so that you don’t have to wait too long time for delicious treats!

Once hardened your chocolate Mickey Mouse Ears are ready to use.  Scoop your favorite ice cream flavor on a cone and position the Mickey Ears on top.  So simple and yet these little chocolate ears bring my children so much joy!
