HOW TO CREATE THE CLEAR FRAME PORTRAIT PAINTINGS
This is such an easy project. Set out a selection of tempera paints and brushes and the clear frames. Children (and adults) take turns holding the frame up to their faces while a friend paints their portraits. This is a great way to focus on facial features. The children were able to use their brushes to trace the shape of the head and then add the different parts of the face.
A wonderful surprise of this activity was how connected the partners became. When my son was painting my face we were able to maintain eye contact as he painted. So many smiles during this process. And, of course, tons of laughter too! The results are hilarious! Have fun!
