Easy Homemade Dinner Rolls

- makes 9 rolls
- 2 teaspoon active yeast (or 1 package)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons honey (I used raw honey)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 2½ cups all purpuse flour (use unbleached if possible)

- Begin by dissolving the yeast in warm water in the mixing bowl.
- Add the honey, egg, softened butter and 1 cup of flour.
- Mix until combined.
- Add the remaining 1.5 cups of flour and continue to mix until smooth.
- Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. This will be a sticky batter.
- Sprinkle about 2 teaspoons of oil on the dough and make the dough into a ball.
- Leave the dough in the bowl and cover for 30 minutes to let the dough rise.
- Tip: if your home or school is cold warm your oven and then turn it off. Place the bowl in the warm oven to encourage dough to rise.
- Let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
- Scoop the dough into 9 greased large muffin cups.
- Let the batter rise for 20- 30 minutes.
- While the dough rises preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
