Homemade Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes

One of the most wonderful outcomes of making our own Homemade Butter is the Homemade Buttermilk that comes with the process. What’s a girl to do with a cup of fresh buttermilk staring at her? Make our Homemade Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes of course!

Homemade Buttermilk Oatmeal Pancakes

Serves: 8 pancakes
Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup quick oats (do not use old-fashioned oats)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour (use unbleached if possible)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • COOKING TOOLS
  • bowl
  • measuring cup- 1 cup, ¼ cup
  • measuring spoons- teaspoon, ½ teaspoon, tablespoon
  • large mixing spoon
  • electric griddle or stovetop griddle
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients until combined.
  2. Grease griddle with butter and turn to medium heat.
  3. Spoon pancake mixture onto griddle.
  4. Flip when golden brown.

large mixing spoon
electric griddle or stovetop griddle pan

TIME TO MAKE HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK OATMEAL PANCAKES

In a large bowl mix together all of the ingredients until combined. Grease electric griddle with butter and turn to medium heat. Spoon pancake mixture onto griddle. Flip when golden brown. Serve with our Homemade Butter and maple syrup.
