Valentine’s Day Happy Thoughts Heart Wall

January 28, 2014 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

One of my favorite Valentine’s Day traditions is our Valentine’s Day Happy Thoughts Heart Wall. We fill the wall with happy thoughts about each other. It is such an easy, inexpensive way to think about others.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE A VALENTINE’S DAY HAPPY THOUGHTS HEART WALL

colored paper (I used purple and pink computer paper)
tape
marker
scissors

HOW TO MAKE THE VALENTINE’S DAY HAPPY THOUGHTS HEART WALL

Prior to introducing the Happy Thoughts Heart Wall to your children create colorful hearts out of colored paper. If your children are skilled with scissors they can help with this part. Next I taped the hearts to the wall to create a large heart.

Tell your children that we are going to think happy thoughts about each other. Ask your child if she would like to share a happy thought about her brother (sister, mother, friend, etc.) Write your child’s words on one of the hearts with her name under the sentence. Children who are independently writing can fill out their own hearts.

Each day we fill more hearts with happy thoughts. Each day we revisited the hearts we filled out and they fill us with love. Such a simple activity, but the loving memories we are creating are enormous.
