There is something completely magical about Christmas lights. As soon as I plug in our outdoor lights all three of my kids are running to the door to get a glimpse of the twinkling colors. Today we are bringing this magic inside to a child’s eye level in the form of Twinkly Light Caves.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE TWINKLY LIGHT CAVES
large cardboard boxes (large enough for a child to sit up in)
1 strand of LED colored lights
pen or pencil
HOW TO MAKE TWINKLY LIGHT CAVES
Make your cave by cutting a large opening in a cardboard box. If your box is not large enough (mine wasn’t), tape together large pieces of cardboard to make the cave. Using a pen or sharp pencil start punching holes in the top of the box. What a fantastic stress reliever for exhausted parents! Older children can also help with this step. You will need about 50 holes. Poke the individual lights through the holes so that one light goes into each hole. Plug in the lights.
That’s it! Can you believe it?
Now sit back and enjoy watching your children be mesmerized by the beautiful glow coming from their new hideouts. Dare I say it? You might even have time to sit down and drink a few sips of tea.
