I know I have found a winning cookie recipe when I think they look gorgeous and my kids ask me to make more. My new Snowflake Butter Cookies with Jam Filling are the perfect holiday cookie! You can wow your guests with a platter full of these treats and delight the little ones too!
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2½ cups flour
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 jar of your favorite jam (I love Bonne Maman Raspberry)
- COOKING TOOLS
- electric mixer ( I love our KitchenAid!)
- measuring cups
- ½ teaspoon
- ⅛ teaspoon
- teaspoon
- rolling pin
- snowflake cookie cutter (large and small)
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Cream together the butter and sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the flour, salt and baking powder.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
- Cut out large snowflakes.
- Cut a small snowflake into half of the large snowflake cookies.
- Leave the other half as is.
- Using a spatula carefully transfer the cookies to ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 450 degrees F for 6-8 minutes until slightly golden.
- Let cool completely.
- Using your favorite jam (We love Bonne Maman Raspberry Preserves) spread a thin layer on one of the snowflake cookie without the hole.
- Place one of the cookies with a snowflake cut out on top.
- Repeat with the rest of the cookies.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE SNOWFLAKE BUTTER COOKIES WITH JAM FILLING

1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 jar of your favorite jam (I love Bonne Maman Raspberry)

TIME TO MAKE SNOWFLAKE BUTTER COOKIES WITH JAM FILLING!
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour, salt and baking powder. Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Cut out large snowflakes. Cut a small snowflake into half of the large snowflake cookies. Leave the other half as is. You can bake the tiny snowflake cookies too!
Using a spatula carefully transfer the cookies to ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 450 degrees F for 6-8 minutes until slightly golden.
