Rainbow Shaving Cream Slip n Slide

July 1, 2016 by Meredith @ Homegrown Friends

The other day I posed a challenge to my kids. Come up with the messiest project we can do tomorrow. Within a minute Luca said shaving cream slide. All three of them immediately agreed, and I added some color because rainbows make me happy.  This Rainbow Shaving Cream Slip n Slide is so much fun and surprisingly easy to clean up.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE RAINBOW SHAVING CREAM SLIP N SLIDE

plastic slide- if you don’t own one here’s a great one for young children
shaving cream – at least 4 bottles
liquid watercolors
paper towels and a hose for clean up

HOW TO MAKE THE RAINBOW SHAVING CREAM SLIP N SLIDE

Start by adding lots of shaving cream to the slide.  Next add small amounts of liquid watercolors to the slide making sections of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.  Mix each section with your hands.

We added a plastic drop cloth to the bottom of the slide and some more shaving cream. We used 4 bottles of shaving cream, but easily could have used more as the kids really wanted to slide into a pool of shaving cream. (Next time) Now the fun begins!  Give each child a chance to slide down.  Fair warning: it’s fast and, well, slippery!

In the end the kids will be covered in shaving cream.  We had a blast! A quick hose rinse off (water play fun!) and we were good to go.

Oh my goodness, we are definitely giving this a try! My daughter loves shaving cream. And rainbows. She will go nuts!
