For our Peter Pan Birthday Party we made our own treasure chests. There is so much room for creativity with this activity! Time to Make Your Own Treasure Chests from a simple item you probably have in your recycling bin!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN TREASURE CHESTS
egg cartons (1/2 carton per person)
markers
glitter glue (we made ours by mixing half glue, half glitter and poured into small squeeze bottles)
glitter paper cut into squares and triangles (you could also use regular colored paper)
rhinetsones
plastic gold coins
Prior to beginning the activity cut the egg cartons in half. Take off any labels if possible.
Each child will have the opportunity to decorate the treasure chests with markers and the various craft items. Sometimes it is helpful to remind children that only a small amount of glues needed to make things stick. The kids loved making their treasure chests and were excited to bring them home at the end of the party!
