Homemade Irish Soda Bread

Serves: 20
- 4 C sifted all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 C sugar
- ¾ C butter
- 1½ C buttermilk (can sub milk plus 1 tsp apple cider vinegar)
- 1 C raisins
- Mix together flour, baking soda, salt and sugar.
- Cut butter into small pieces.
- Add butter to flour mixture and combine until mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Mix milk and raisins until just combined.
- Knead for 1 minute.
- Split dough in half and form two loaves.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 or until golden brown. Let cool.
- Cut into slices and enjoy!
