It is my dream to create a space for children to share my love of play-based learning. Located in West Hartford, CT, Homegrown Studio classes explore creative, process art and hands-on activities in a bright, cheerful space. Children have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of high-quality mediums such as paint, clay, collage, watercolors and sculpture. There is no right or wrong way when it comes to children’s art. Our little artists have the freedom to fully immerse themselves in our creative space as they learn and grow together.
The space where children learn is often called the “third teacher”. The Homegrown Friends environment is carefully designed with your children in mind. Classroom materials are kept at child level to foster independence and respect. The open layout gives children the space they need to move freely from activity to activity. Muted colors and natural materials allow children and their art to shine bright. The importance of fresh air and outdoor learning is honored with our screened-in art studio and ample outdoor space which we use for large art activities and incorporating movement, weather permitting.
