Welcome Friends!

Homegrown Friends is a place for me to share my passions- my children, education, food, writing and photography.  Homegrown Friends is evolving.  What started off as a playgroup matching service has transformed into a site for growing young hearts, minds and bodies.  Here you will find our favorite activities, kid-friendly recipes, books we love to read and stories of motherhood.  I love being home with my children and sharing our lives with you.  Thank you for joining me on this journey!

A little about me-

I received my Masters in Education from Bank Street College of Education and went on to teach preschool and kindergarten in New York City.

Now I’m a stay at home mom to my three children, 6 year old boy and twin 4 year old girls.

We  live in Connecticut, USA where we enjoy taking advantage of all the outdoor fun that surrounds us- trail walks, farm visits, apple and berry picking and of course the months of snow adventures!

When not outside we love doing crafts, cooking, building blocks, playing games, family movie nights and running around the house at full speed (the kids like that part more than me!)

About Homegrown Friends: growing young hearts, minds and bodies

A dream day with my kids and husband would be-

A trip to our favorite apple orchard enjoying the sunshine and crisp air, a tractor ride up to pick apples followed by the best apple fritters ever at Belltown Orchards.  Best. Ever.  I kid you not.

about the kids

A dream day by myself would be-

Sleeping in, crab cakes eggs benedict, an amazing Barre3 workout, copious amounts of Barry’s Tea and really good dark chocolate with a couple of guilt free hours to read a great book. More food. Lots and lots of sushi. More chocolate. Writing posts for this site (yes I truly love this!) and 12 straight hours of sleep.
